Video creation, online communication to play major factor with businesses in 2011

A recent report from TMCNet with Mike Newman, CEO of Accordent, cited several different technology trends for businesses in 2011 that have a common theme - video.
Newman told the website that the most significant trend in 2010 was the convergence of video creation, management and distribution of unified components of online communications initiatives. Newman believes 2011 might be the year that these trends reach enterprise adoption and usage levels.
The ability of video conferencing has become a major initiative for many companies as it saves a considerable amount of money typically used for travel. Through webcams, other various conferencing technologies and
business projectors, more online meetings are taking place because of their convenience and affordibility. Thus, companies have devoted greater budgets toward improving their video conferencing ability to conduct more meetings.
Newman also believes increased tablet adoption will further accelerate business video communications, as workers can easily access live and on-demand video anywhere, especially significant when they are out of the office.
In fact, the rise of smartphone use and tablet computing has experts at Deloitte believing enterprises will begin turning away from PCs and toward these mobile devices more frequently in 2011.
