Despite the greater flexibility provided by online communications, such as email and instant messaging, employees find themselves more motivated to be productive when communicating through videoconferencing, according to a recent report by Damova.
In a survey of 1,000 office and mobile employees, the communications provider found 63 percent of respondents are more inclined to complete a task faster when meeting someone face-to-face in a video conference.
As email becomes the main form of communication between employees, inboxes are filling up quickly and many workers find themselves overlooking important messages, the report stated. However, with videoconferencing, employees can improve their communication, ensuring certain tasks are not passed over.
Businesses that want to improve their videoconferencing capabilities can route their video feeds through an HD-TV, LED monitor or
USB projector. This will enhance the picture quality and allow companies to reach a wider audience.
Videoconferencing is becoming a more widespread business practice for companies looking to reduce travel costs and improve employee communication. According to a recent study by Global Industry Analyst, the videoconferencing market could reach as high as $10.8 billion by 2015.
