A recent study found that videoconferencing is a key aspect of collaboration between businesses.
The study called 2010 Next Generation Video Conferencing and Collaboration Report was conducted among 2,000 Webtorial community members who had shown a recent interest in video and unified communications.
The study found that nearly 77 percent of respondents already have access to a dedicated videoconferencing system in their company’s conference room, while 53 percent use a PC-based system in their office.
To display video feeds, many companies will set up a computer in a meeting room and connect it to an HD TV, LCD monitor or a
USB projector.
The study stated that major drivers for videoconferencing include increased productivity and financial savings. Projecting live video conferences allows more employees to participate in the meetings and can reduce travel costs.
Videoconferencing has been an essential tool for businesses. In addition to reducing costs, many companies find that videoconferencing improves working relationships as well as employee responsiveness.
