75 percent of companies investing in green products, new survey finds

A new survey finds business are spending an increasing amount on green-energy productsCompanies are increasing their green-energy purchases to save money through reduced energy costs, according to a recent survey from Forrester Research.

The report found only a quarter of surveyed companies have a dedicated green IT budget, yet nearly 75 percent of respondents are purchasing sustainable products to make their infrastructures and data centers more energy-efficient.

Forrester Research discovered 70 percent of respondents are currently virtualizing servers, using SaaS to reduce energy consumption.

Companies that are looking to invest in sustainable equipment are gravitating toward devices such as an energy-saving computer, LED monitor or mercury-free business projector. Integrating these tools with cost-effective virtualization can improve a company’s efficiency.

In addition, 25 percent of respondents said they had introduced precision cooling systems for data centers, and 33 percent have already eliminated redundant applications.

The IT sector has been the leader in the green energy movement, according to a recent Regus survey, which found 42 percent of companies in the field have invested in new technologies to reduce their carbon footprint.ADNFCR-3190-ID-19913734-ADNFCR
