Luidia has developed a new interactive technology that allows businesses to turn a wall into a computerized touch screen using a remote control-sized device.
The new gadget is not limited to a single conference room, as a business branch in Texas can simultaneously work with a branch in Illinois on the same whiteboard. Images, sounds and notes are transferred instantaneously as if the professionals were working on the project in the same location, the San Francisco Business Journal reports.
In addition, the project can be saved, printed and emailed and be replayed similar to a film on any surface. Typically, businesses will connect the new interactive whiteboard technology to a computer, HD TV or
DLP projector to allow more individuals to see and work on a project at the same time.
Many businesses and educational institutions are using projectors in combination with the interactive whiteboard technology, fueling the interactive market, which is expected to grow from $1.1 billion in 2009 to $1.8 billion in 2012.
Interactive technology offers business increased flexibility and can help reduce expenses. By using videoconferencing technologies in tandem with an interactive whiteboard, workers scattered in different cities can cooperate and coordinate without spending on travel.
