A report from Gartner found that worldwide businesses will spend more than 4 percent more for IT budgeting during 2010 than they did during the previous year, Network World reports. The increase comes after a sizable decline in 2008, when companies spent 5.6 percent less on IT.
The report comes as good news to businesses looking to add newer technologies, like computer systems, managed networks or widescreen projectors.
"2010 will see IT spending in all major industries returning to growth, although that growth will vary by individual sector," said Gartner research director Kenneth Brant, Network World relays. "National and international government will show the strongest growth in 2010, as IT spending is forecast to grow 6.2 percent worldwide."
The increased spending will bring the total amount to $2.43 trillion in 2010, up from $2.33 trillion in 2009. Twelve business sectors are expected to increase their budgets, such as banking, media, education, healthcare, insurance and retail.
In January, Forrester Research predicted that IT spending in the U.S. will increase by 6.6 percent.
