Green technology making a comeback in the business world April 1, 2010
Energy-efficient technology - particularly as applied to the business sector - has bounced back stronger than ever from the recent recession, reports indicate. Reuters reports that "venture capital investment in clean technology companies hit $1.9 billion during the first three months of 2010 - representing a 29 percent increase from the last quarter of 2009 and a 83 percent jump from the same period a year ago." This development could signify that businesses and their investors are becoming more and more aware of the bottom-line benefits of green technology adoption. New Ford CEO Alan Mulally said that U.S. enterprises must embrace energy-efficiency and green practices in all market segments and across all departments. Mulally also said that the country has fallen behind others as an innovator in this area and must improve both its image and its creativity. Mulally is not alone in his advocacy of a renewal in green technology research. Many other business leaders have recently gotten on board, and the first fruits of their efforts - including energy efficient CPUs, lamp-free business projectors and other commonly used electronic devices - are beginning to appear on the market. | Watson makes his way to Boston
