Mafia II video game hits stores on Tuesday

Mafia II was released in stores on Tuesday Mafia II, the sequel to the hit crime-action video game Mafia, was released in stored on Tuesday, offering gamers an exciting look into the world of organized crime.

Players are dropped into Empire Bay, an urban American cityscape during the 1940s and ‘50s. Controlling the lead character Vito, the son of a poor immigrant who descends into the underground world, gamers find themselves engaged in fast-paced action sequences and a creative narrative.

The detailed backgrounds and expansive environments are best viewed on consoles connected to an HD TV, LED monitor or HDMI projector.

“Mafia II is what gamers want in a mob game - the marriage of a compelling story with edge-of-the-seat action and lifelike characters that immerse players in an epic entertainment experience,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K Games. “When you add in a setting that accurately reflects a period in history that has never been rendered so beautifully, it sets a new benchmark not just for the action-crime genre, but for any game set in the real world with a rich story to tell.
