Fans of the widely popular Tomb Raider franchise can now download the latest Lara Croft adventure from the the Xbox Live Arcade.
The game, Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light, features a franchise-first isometric camera and a two-player cooperative mode to expand gameplay options.
We put everything we could into our first downloadable adventure, and were very proud of what we have created, said Darrell Gallagher, a general manager of Crystal Dynamics, the games developer. We believe we have delivered a game which opens up new types of gameplay that will excite not only Tomb Raider fans, but all fans of digital gaming.
Similar to previous titles in the franchise, the newest Lara Croft installment features highly detailed environments and loads of action - ideal for gamers who connect their consoles to an HDTV, LED monitor or
HDMI projector.
Players will control Lara as she searches for an ancient artifact known as the Mirror of Smoke. When the mirror is stolen by an evil force named Xolotl, the crafty protagonist will have to join forces with the Guardian of Light, Totec, to save the world from never-ending darkness.
The game is currently only available for the Xbox 360; however, it will be released for the PC and on the PlayStation 3 Network in late September.
